TAPROOM

Our taproom is open Wednesday to Sunday, offering a full range of Beerblefish beers and gins, along with carefully selected alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks from other producers. We love cask ales and our cold room is stocked with a rotating line-up from the Beerblefish stable and guest breweries.

The eGift Cards cannot (yet!) be redeemed against online purchases – watch this space for news on that.

Our eGift Cards are sent directly to the recipient by email, using the address you provide. They include a code that is used to redeem them at the till in the Taproom. Terms & conditions apply.

TAPROOM FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do you accept cards or cash?
For now, we’re card only. This is partly because of the situation with COVID and partly for security reasons. You can also pay with an eGift Card, which can be purchased from here. See the terms & conditions for the eGift Card programme on our Shop T&C page.

Do I need to book a table?
No, walk-ins are welcome. If you would like to book a table for a special event or group, you can now book online.

Do you serve food?
We don’t have our own kitchen, but we have an arrangement with Yard Sale Pizza that gets you free delivery to the taproom – they also usually arrive in under half an hour and they have a great vegan range and gluten free options too. We also have some great crisps, pork scratchings and nuts available if you’re a little peckish. We are looking at maybe having a street food vendor park up outside in the future – we need to judge demand for this so please let us know if it’s something you’d be interested in us doing.

Do I need to wear a mask/socially distance?
We do not require customers to wear masks, but we encourage those who can to wear them while they are moving around the taproom. Some of our staff may be wearing masks, but some are exempt, so you may see a mixture of masks and non-masks in the team. There is plenty of space in the taproom, so distancing shouldn’t be an issue, but we ask you to be respectful of others’ space so that everyone can enjoy their time here with confidence.

Can I bring my children?
We want to strike a balance between those people who prefer an adults only environment and those who need to bring their kids to be able to get out – therefore, we allow children in the taproom on Saturday and Sunday afternoons from 12-6pm. Occasionally we may make exceptions at other times, e.g., if we have a special event on which is suitable for children. If you’re bringing children, please try to keep them with you at your table while you’re here. If they need something to occupy them, some of our board games (see below) are suitable for kids and our Little Free Library usually has some children’s books in it.

Can I bring my dog?
Yes! Dogs and their well-behaved humans are very welcome. We have a couple of water bowls out for our four-legged friends so they can enjoy a drink alongside you. We ask that dogs be kept on a lead and are restricted to the taproom area (i.e. please don’t let them into the brewery production area). You should also be aware that our neighbour’s cat, the lovely Leila, is often around the brewery, so that could be why your pooch suddenly gets excited.

Do you have outside space?
We have outside space for about ten people. Some of the space is under a shelter, but it’s not completely safe from the elements.

Do you have beer suitable for vegetarians/vegans?
Yes! All Beerblefish Brewing Co. beers are suitable for vegans. Some of the other drinks we have are vegan and we’ve tried to make that clear on our menu. Three of the six Two Farmers crisp flavours we have are vegan, and one other is vegetarian.

Do you have any gluten free drinks?
Yes! Our Cashmere Brut IPA (6.7%), Pan Galactic Pale Ale (4.6%) and Hoppy Pale Ale No.10 (4.5%) have all been verified as gluten free (they have less than 10 parts per million of gluten, the legal limit for calling them “gluten free” is 20 ppm). The Gosnells mead and Local Fox cider we stock are both also gluten free. The Two Farmers crisps we stock are all gluten free.

I don’t like beer, should I still come?
Yes! We firmly believe that there’s a beer for everyone and you might just not have found the right one yet. But if your search continues, we have plenty of other drinks for you in the meantime, including Gosnells of London mead, The Orchard Project’s Local Fox cider, our own Hopped Gin and a range of wines and spirits. We also have Gunna soft drinks and Pepsi.

Do you have fun things to do other than drinking beer?
Yes! We have a free-play pool table. It’s one of the worst pool tables in the world, but that’s a great leveller (and also it’s purple, so it’s cool…) We’re very proud of our Sjoelbak (Dutch shuffleboard); if you’re not sure how to play, ask one of our team – some of them are really rather good at it! We also have a range of board games for you to play. We ask for a Ā£1 donation to our board game fund if you borrow a game (you can play the game as many times as you like while you have it) – this money will be used to buy new board games. We buy our games from Get Your Game On Ltd, so if you play a game you love here, you can grab your own copy from them. You can browse our Board Game Menu below! Near the door of the taproom, you’ll find our Little Free Library, where you can bring a book and take a book away – there’s a variety of adults’ and kids’ books in there, including fiction and non-fiction titles.

Is the taproom accessible?
Mostly. There are no stairs in the building, but there is a ramp into the taproom which is slightly steeper than a disabled ramp. If you need some help getting in, please let us know and we’ll be happy to assist you. We have a disabled loo and a wheelchair accessible area of the bar. We have large print versions of our menu behind the bar, so please ask if you need one. We’re sorry that we don’t yet have a hearing aid loop, but we’re planning to install one when we start to have events in the taproom in the future.

Who did that fabulous mural?
Renowned urban artists Tizer ID and This One (aka Ed and George) created the mural for us. They were given a dodgy biro diagram and the brief of “make it like a space aquarium but it has to have a Viking long ship,” and we love what they’ve come up with. Look out for Tizer’s sasquatch calling card somewhere in the design.

How do I get there?
The address is Unit 2A-4, Uplands Business Park, Blackhorse Lane, Walthamstow E17 5QJ. We are marked on Google maps and Apple maps. To find us, turn off Blackhorse Lane at the north end of Uplands House, by the “Uplands B” sign, go down the hill, through the gates and we’re the first shutter door on the left – we’re a bit hidden in the corner, so make sure you don’t miss us! The nearest station is Blackhorse Road on the London Overground and Victoria lines. Bus 158 runs along Blackhorse Lane and the nearest stop is Shakespeare Road.
