Inclusion

WEST LEA SUPPORTED INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME

We’re proud to be participating in West Lea School’s supported internship programme, which aims to enable young people with special educational needs to “bridge the gap” between the worlds of education and work. In September 2020, we welcomed our first intern, James, to the brewery, where he’ll be working with us part time. We’re really excited to have James on board and think he will be a great asset to our team!

WORK IN PROGRESS

At Beerblefish, we’re proud to be a “Work In Progress” brewery. We’re working on developing our inclusion strategy and will update this page as we progress along this road.

We joined Work In Progress in July 2020. As we are already a social enterprise brewery, some of our aims coincide with the ideals of inclusion, but we think we can and should do more. We’re undertaking a period of reflection while we consider the ways we serve the various communities we have the privilege to be connected with and how we can work to enhance inclusion in those communities, in our own business and in the brewing and beer-drinking communities more broadly.

Watch this space for more details as we work through this development stage. In the meantime, head over to our recent blog post for more on why we’re getting involved and what we might be doing.
