James Atherton
Founder and Managing Director
James arrived at brewing via a biochemistry degree, a masters in bioinformatics and more than 10 years as a software developer. His beery passion is for heritage ales, mixed fermentation and Trappist beers.
Michaela Charles
Brewer
Born in Kent, Brewing in London.
Enjoys small scale hands on breweries, traditional styles and good old citrusy hops.
Can’t resist a challenge, loves learning new techniques. Doesn’t need a beard.

Assistant Brewer
James joined us in September 2020 as a supported intern from West Lea School. He has proved himself to be an invaluable member of our team, working his way up to Assistant Brewer. James likes pale ales and lagers best.
Glenn Heinzel
General Manager
With 20 years brewing experience (5 years commercial), Glenn enjoys making beer, talking about beer and drinking beer. Glenn also brews under his own cuckoo label (Tankley’s) in his spare time.
